Because land in The Gambia is measured and described in different ways, every land listing shows its size in square metres, hectares and acres, with dimensions, price per m², road access, utilities and documentation status written out in plain text — so you can compare plots properly before you ever visit.

Square metres (m²)
The standard unit for plots. A typical residential plot in the Kombo area might be 20m × 25m = 500 m².
Hectares (ha)
Used for larger land. One hectare is 10,000 m² — common for agricultural and development sites.
Acres
Still widely used in Gambian land conversations. One acre is roughly 4,047 m², about 0.4 hectares.
